5/10: This past week has been tough for the Dracula ecosystem, but we have been grinding forward in order to make up for the lost time. Currently, Dracula Protocol V2.1 is being reviewed on testnet, although we have confirmed that the bug in V2 has been solved.

We are waiting to deploy on mainnet until the incident regarding RARI’s ETH Vault exploit has been resolved. As the RARI ETH Vault is a core component of Dracula Protocol V2.1, the team has decided not to rush forward with the redeploy until we can confirm that it is safe for our users.

Until then, we will be thoroughly testing V2.1 in order to ensure the efficiency and security of our platform.

Newly uncovered hack campaign in Telegram

The campaign, which security firm Check Point has named Rampant Kitten, comprises two main components, one for Windows and the other for Android. Rampant Kitten’s objective is to steal Telegram messages, passwords, and two-factor authentication codes sent by SMS and then also take screenshots and record sounds within earshot of an infected phone, the researchers said in a post published on Friday.

In many cases, the content resembled that of the marketplaces found on the dark web, a group of hidden websites that are popular among hackers and accessed using specific anonymising software.“We have recently been witnessing a 100 per cent-plus rise in Telegram usage by cybercriminals,” said Tal Samra, cyber threat analyst at Cyberint. The rise in nefarious activity comes as users flocked to the encrypted chat app earlier this year after changes to the privacy policy of Facebook-owned rival WhatsApp prompted many to seek out alternatives.Dracula Protocol Announcements from hk
